The Kentucky Three

Directions:

Overview:

It was shortly before midnight on January 6, 1976 that Louise Smith, Mona Stafford, and Elaine Thomas were headed south on Highway 78 near Stanford, Kentucky. Suddenly, the three women noticed an unidentified flying object in the sky above their car, and they felt a burning sensation in their eyes.

Moments later, the women were taken aboard the otherworldly aircraft, where they were subjected to a number of bizarre medical procedures. “They pulled my eyes out,” Mona Stafford later recalled. “I mean, they drew them right out of my head and laid them over my cheeks.”

In the days and weeks that followed, the women submitted themselves to polygraph examination and hypnotic regression at the Brown Motel in Liberty, Kentucky, both of which revealed no evidence of deception. Today, the Brown Motel is known as the Bedford Inn and can be found at 579 Wallace Wilkinson Boulevard.
