Daniel Perez Honored by Paranormal Roadtripper’s Nightmare Gallery
The time has come to announce the next inductee into Paranormal Roadtripper’s Nightmare Gallery—Daniel Perez of Los Angeles, California! Perez joins Russ Nowack, George Dudding, and Glenn Campbell as researchers whose commitment and contributions to the study of the unusual, the unexplained, and otherworldly have captured the imaginations of our visitors—and who have proven themselves to be worthy of celebration here at Paranormal Roadtripper’s Nightmare Gallery.
Daniel Perez was born in Norwalk, California on May 31, 1963, but his interest in the Abominable Snowman of America did not begin until a decade later, when he first watched the classic creature feature The Legend of Boggy Creek. It was shortly thereafter that Perez founded the Center for Bigfoot Studies with the aim of separating fact from fiction and mystery from reality in its quest for the truth regarding the elusive beast. In the years that followed, the Center for Bigfoot Studies quickly became one of the largest archives of Bigfoot-related books, newspaper clippings, and photographs in the world.
The magnum opus of Daniel Perez, however, is the Bigfoot Times, a monthly newsletter, printed on “sunburst yellow paper,” that has been showing up in the mailboxes of its subscribers since January 1998. For nearly three decades, there has been no greater forum for reasoned investigative journalism in the study of Bigfoot than Perez’s hard-hitting newsletter. In 2025, Perez further cemented his legacy with the release of the highly regarded tome, Bigfoot at Bluff Creek: A Pictorial Discussion.
Today, Daniel Perez, who has become as legendary in this field of research as the creature that he has spent a lifetime pursuing, continues his decades-long effort to bring decency, humility, and thoughtful analysis to an area of study that is far too often devoid of these things, and it is little doubt that his commitment and contributions to the study of Bigfoot will continue to inspire researchers for many years to come, especially at Paranormal Roadtripper’s Nightmare Gallery, where Daniel Perez was inducted on December 31, 2025.
