TAPS is back! “Ghost Nation” is coming to Travel Channel this fall

As a longtime fan of Syfy’s Ghost Hunters, you can imagine my excitement learning that Travel Channel has given the green light to a new series starring Jason Hawes and the Atlantic Paranormal Society. The series, tentatively titled Ghost Nation, is set to premiere sometime this fall and will reunite many of the original cast members: the aforementioned Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, Dave Tango, etc. No word on whether Grant Wilson, who hung up his P.K.E. meter and proton pack back in 2012, will come out of retirement to join his former colleagues.

With so many ghost hunting shows littering cable television these days, it was probably only a matter of time before Hawes and the gang were reunited. I’m just a little surprised that Syfy let them slip through their fingers. At one time, the adventures of TAPS saw some of the highest ratings in the history of the network.

Color me excited. Though it’s had many imitators over the years, no show has been able to capture the spirit (no pun intended) of Ghost Hunters. Welcome back, boys. You’ve been missed.
